For context, she asked me directly and I have never been good at lying. Everyone at the table went quiet.

This. Watched a guy be rude to a barista once and it rewrote everything I thought about him.

How to make a Reddit post mockup

Three steps, about twenty seconds. Nothing to install and no Reddit account involved.

Pick a mode
Comment thread, post or story frame. Leave the body empty for a title-only card, or clear every field for a blank Reddit post template.
Fill the fields
Subreddit, username, avatar, upvotes, awards, flair, timestamp. The preview redraws as you type.
Export
Download a 2× PNG or copy straight to the clipboard, ready to drop into a video timeline or a deck.

A Reddit mockup that looks the part

Three formats, one editor.
Comment thread, post and story frame in a single editor. Switching keeps everything you have already typed, so you can test the same hook in every format.
Mockup type
Commentnested replies
Posttitle + body
Storylarge text frame
See it before you export.
Every field redraws the mockup as you type: avatar, flair, timestamp, upvote count. No render step, no waiting to find out the title wraps badly.

AITA for telling my sister the truth about her wedding venue?

Replies that nest like the real thing.
Add as many comments as the payoff needs and indent them up to three levels, with the same rail-and-avatar structure Reddit uses.

That tells you everything.

Or whether they return the shopping cart.

Sharp at every size.
Download at 2× as PNG or copy straight to the clipboard. Text is rendered at export time, so it stays crisp when you scale the frame up to 1080×1920.

Why generate instead of screenshotting

A real Reddit screenshot brings compression artifacts, a cropped browser chrome, someone's actual username and whatever the thread looked like that day. None of it survives being blown up to 1080×1920.

A generated Reddit post mockup is rendered at export time, so text stays crisp at any size, nothing identifies a real account, and you can rewrite the hook until it tests well.

Sharp at 1080×1920
Rendered at export time instead of upscaled from a phone screenshot.
No real usernames
Nothing traces back to an actual account or a live thread.
Rewrite until it lands
Test five hooks in a minute instead of hunting for a post that says it for you.
Consistent across a series
Same subreddit, avatar and styling on every episode of a channel.

Frequently asked questions

Is this Reddit post template free to use?

Yes. Every mode, every export size and unlimited downloads, with no account, no watermark and no credit card. Nothing you type is uploaded. The whole generator runs in your browser.

How do I make a fake Reddit post for a story video?

Choose Story, paste your hook into the title field, set a subreddit and an upvote count that looks plausible, then export the PNG. Drop it on the first two seconds of your Short or TikTok as the cold open.

Can I generate a Reddit comment thread with nested replies?

Switch to Comment. Add as many replies as you need and use the arrow buttons to indent one under another, up to three levels deep, matching how Reddit nests replies.

What image size does it export?

PNGs render at 2× the on-screen size, so a standard post card exports around 800px wide with transparent margins. Scale it to whatever frame your editor needs.

Is it legal to use a fake Reddit post?

Mockups are fine for illustration, parody, memes, portfolio work and internal design comps. Passing a fabricated post off as a real one in advertising, journalism or to harass a real user is not. Do not reuse real usernames or real subreddit branding as endorsement.

Do I need a Reddit account?

No. This is a mockup generator, not a posting tool. It never connects to Reddit and never touches an account.
